Almost every dead project I have been handed was sold as one thing and built as another. Nobody lied. The two descriptions simply never met. Closing that gap early is cheaper than any rescue.
Building got cheap.Judgement did not.
AI removed most of the cost of producing software, which means producing it is no longer the hard part. Knowing which version is worth producing, and being able to defend that to whoever is paying, is the scarce thing.
